Die Ubuntu Hilfe http://ubuntuguide.org/ wurde ursprünglich von Chua Wen Kiat (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) gestartet.
Nun wird sie gepflegt und aufrecht erhalten von `Linux Center of University of Latvia' und den Benutzern die bereit sind es weiterzuentwickeln.

Generelles


  1. Dies ist eine inoffizielle Anfänger Hilfe von `Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger)', und steht in keiner Verbindung mit `Ubuntu and Canonical Ltd.'
  2. Diese Hilfe basiert auf der Voll Installation von `Ubuntu 5.10 x86 Install CD (Breezy Bader)'
  3. Eine Box mit gestrichelten Rand bedeutet das ein Befehl im Terminal Modus ausgeführt werden muss (Anwendungen -> Zubehör -> Terminal)
  4. Um Fehler zu vermeiden, solltet Ihr die Kommandos mit Strg+C kopieren, um sie dann im Terminal mit Shift+Einfg einzufügen.
  5. Der Befehl `sudo' bedeutet, das die nachfolgende Befehle als `Superuser' ausgeführt werden. Sudo erfordert ein Passwort (das eures Users)
  6. Eine ausführliche Hilfe zu jedem Befehl gibt `man [befehl]'. Z.B.: "man sudo" zeigt euch eine Hilfe zu den Befehl `sudo'
  7. Falls Ihr eine einfachere Methode bevorzugt als `apt-get' solltet ihr #How to apt-get the easy way (Synatptic) lesen
  8. `apt-get' und `wget' erfordern eine Internetverbindung zum installieren/updaten/downloaden von Programmen
  9. um eine Datei zu downloaden klickt mit rechtsklick auf den Link und wählt `Link speichern als...'. Versichert euch dass der Dateiname und die Erweiterung richtig ist.
