Introduction

• On October 18, 2012, Kubuntu 12.10 was released.
• It is codenamed Quantal Quetzal and is the successor to Precise Pangolin 12.04 (Precise+1).
• Quantal Quetzal is not an LTS (Long Term Support) release. It will be supported with security updates for both the desktop and server versions until April 2014.
